So who saw that one coming?! 52 points, 605 yards, 300+ passing yards, and a Logan Thomas sighting later… The Hokies generated their greatest offensive performance I’ve ever seen. Frankly I didn’t know how to feel… Did Mike Leach murder Bryan Stinespring and take over? Did Bud Foster give up on the defense and replace Stiney as the OC?! While all theories are plausible, it looks like our expectations in August finally came to fruition.
The Boys from Switzerland struggled early and often…. Tanner Price looked intimidated, their defense resembled a high school team, and all offensive players not named Josh Harris and Chris Givens were essentially non-existent. The Demon Deacons inaugural trip to Blacksburg was one to forget. Here’s to Jim Grobe and the boys turning things around next week against Maryland… have fun at College Park… biggest S—hole in America.
For as many things we did great on offense, the defense continues to make us reach for the Maker’s… something the Hokies aren’t accustomed to doing. While each TD can be broken down and examined for mistakes, what it comes down to is assignment defense and open field tackling. We might be able to get away with this against Duke, but Captain PJ will have his boys drooling to run the Triple Option against this D.
Without further ado… this weeks awards:
BDP of the Week

Tyrod Taylor- Check em out… 19/27, 292 yards, 3 TD’s, 0 Jacory’s, 31 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD. Was this one even up for debate? Biggest land slide victory yet… just swinging. I expect Tyrod to continue airing it out this week… let’s keep the train rolling.
Honorable Mention: Bryan Stinespring-Give the man some love… we pile on when things are bad and seem to forget he calls the plays when we win big. Loved the play calling and the inclusion of Logan Thomas. Maybe Ryan Williams getting hurt wasn’t such a bad thing….
